Proud to be an American (DC Follow Up 2014)

America is a great country because it endeavors to be a good country- one which lives up to its ideals and stands up for the right when freedom is challenged whether at home or overseas. We have made mistakes throughout our history as a nation and are definitely not perfect. Each of us has our own opinions about issues, politics, and politicians. However, in Washington D.C. all of our Memorials and Monuments and Government Buildings were designed for all the American people.

What place, experience, or realization during our Washington D.C. trip made you "Proud to be an American" and why?

If you aren't an American Citizen, what in Washington most earned or increased your respect for America?

This discussion is offered as a way to encourage you to share more feedback about your experiences on the trip, and to think further about the places you'll be describing from your personal perspective in the DC Close Up Hot Spot Project.

This discussion will run through Sunday, November 2nd at 9pm.
